Peru Mission Trip

This is my second trip to the country of Peru since December. I had the pleasure of hosting a twelve person team from Cedarville University. The team ministered in a church in Lima before heading north on Monday for an 8 hour bus trip to the town of Huaraz. The team ministered to children on Tuesday at an AMG sponsored child care center. On Wednesday it was off to another mountain area of Yungar and than on Thursday turning south for another two and half hour bus ride down a descending mud road to a village town. This town isolated by high mountains had not been visited by any prior team. We found both children and adults appreciated the ministry by the students in song, games and skits. One teacher even came to the afternoon ministry time and requested the words to the songs that she and her first grade class had heard earlier in the morning in the town square. Five or more children responded to an invitation to accept Christ as Savior.

It really is difficult to put into words how the Lord truly worked through the team blessing children and adults that were separated by language for most of us. However, the hugs and showing the children of how to play games and with the help of another AMG missionary that could speak Spanish he made it possible for three good days of ministry. God opened doors and touched lives that will only be known once we are in Heaven.

It was a blessing to have a co-worker Roberto on the team and my special gratitude goes to Pastor Jose, Andres and Eric as well as many others that made arrangements for transportation and guiding us to the various ministry locations. May the Lord bless them for their servant's heart and to the Cedarville leader and students that were a delight to serve.
